Prelims fighter claims to be baby of Khabib and Demian Maia after submission victory at UFC 29

UFC flyweight contender Jimmy Flick recently made a bold claim about his skills in his post-fight press conference. Jimmy fought in Ontario, Canada at UFC 297, and after his spectacular win, made some strong statements about his skills.

Jimmy Flick successfully submitted his opponent to secure his victory at UFC 297. He compared his skills in the octagon to that of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Demian Maia and said:

People ask me how do you describe your style. Well if Khabib and Demian Maia had a baby, they would have Jimmy Flick. You got Khabib wrestling with my Demian Maia jiu-jitsu. I use my Khabib wrestling to get him to the ground. I dominate him. And I use my Demian Maia jiu-jitsu to sub him up.

Jimmy Flick misses $50,000 UFC bonus despite winning at UFC 297

Malcolm Gordon came out strong at the beginning of the fight. He landed some good punches and kicks, but Flick was able to bear through it all. In the second round, Flick started to take over. He landed a few good strikes of his own and then took Gordon down.

From there, he was able to transition into an arm-triangle choke and force Gordon to tap. The win was a big one for Flick. He later revealed that it was his final performance on his UFC contract and expressed that the UFC renewed his contract after the win.

Flick had also expressed confidence that he would receive the UFC bonus for his performance. However, Flick was one of the only two winners to not get the $50,000 bonus. Flick did receive an extra reward for his victory, taking home 20% of Malcolm Gordon’s purse due to Gordon missing his weight.
