Niall Horan Debuts His On The Loose Music Video Celeb Secrets

I know that the Oscars were this weekend and all, but can I add a last-minute addition to the “Short Film” category? You see, Niall Horan has just dropped his “On The Loose” music video, and I wasn’t ready for it to be a cinematic masterpiece. But I’ve viewed it 17 times now and it’s official: work of art it is.

Yes, I know I should have been ready. It’s not like I forgot that his last video release – for “Too Much To Ask” – brought me to tears and had me over here near tears while nursing a shattered heart. But somehow, I didn’t expect to be so moved by “On the Loose,” a much more fast-paced and upbeat track.

In this video, it’s really Niall who’s on the loose. He’s wandering the desert, on a road trip with a love that has brought him there. For a moment, it’s beautiful. It’s fun. But then It becomes hard to tell if we’re seeing Niall in the moment, or a mix of his happier flashbacks. He’s realizing that he’s with a girl who can’t be tied down. She likes attention, no matter who is watching – and he’s not sure how much love they really share. He’s jealous, but (thank goodness!) he is not raging mad, in her face, or violent like sometimes portrayals can be – he’s just lonely, despite her company.

If there is a theme here, it is “Why do Niall Horan’s music videos leave me so heartbroken, even though the songs themselves are a bop and a half?” I have a feeling I’m going to be asking that question for years to come.

Check out Niall’s new music video for “On The Loose” above, and leave us your reactions below so we know if you were left just as shook.
