Four-alarm fire guts multiple stores in Boise strip mall

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Emergency crews responded to a four-alarm structure fire at a strip mall in Boise Wednesday night.

Ada County Dispatch says that the fire was called in on the 2100 block of Broadway Avenue just after 10 p.m.

The fire burned seven businesses in the strip mall.

Wok King, Liquor Store, Talk of the Town salon, MC Nails, and Domino's Pizza's corporate office were destroyed. Domino's takeout was partially destroyed. Other businesses suffered smoke and water damage.

The roof collapsed in some of the businesses. The Boise Fire Department estimates that the fire caused about $1 million in damages.

Domino's was evacuated and Broadway was closed in the area while firefighters got the flames under control.

Emergency crews responded with 12 engines, 3 ladder trucks, 3 battalion commanders, Boise Police, and EMS crews.

The fire drew a crowd of spectators from the nearby area who watched fire crews battle the blaze.

Viewers told us that they heard at least one explosion as well.

Firefighters say they got the flames under control a little after 11 p.m., but that hot spots continued to burn into the night.

There were no injuries.

Investigators say the cause of the fire is undetermined.
